A Step Above Medical provides hands-on Phlebotomy and IV Therapy training centered around practical skills, small class sizes, and real-world clinical instruction.
Our goal is not simply to teach students what to do, but to provide the supervised practice, confidence, and understanding needed to perform these skills safely and successfully.
Led by healthcare professionals with decades of combined clinical and teaching experience, we train students at different stages of their healthcare journey. Our Phlebotomy Training Course is appropriate for beginners, while our IV Therapy Training Course is designed for healthcare professionals who already have foundational venipuncture skills. We also help experienced professionals refresh and advance their clinical skills.
We offer open-enrollment classes in cities across the country and Group Training nationwide, bringing practical clinical education directly to students, healthcare organizations, and communities.
Team
Our instructors bring real-world healthcare experience into the classroom, combining clinical knowledge with practical, hands-on instruction. Classes are kept small so instructors can provide individualized attention, supervised practice, and direct guidance to each student.

With 27 years in healthcare and more than 20 years of bedside experience, primarily in obstetrics and trauma, Jaime brings extensive real-world clinical experience into the classroom. She has spent more than six years traveling nationwide and teaching both Phlebotomy and IV Therapy skills. Jaime enjoys helping students develop practical skills, proper technique, and confidence through hands-on training.
Nationally Certified Phlebotomy Technician | Instructor
Dillon holds an Associate of Applied Science degree and is a Nationally Certified Phlebotomy Technician. With five years of hands-on phlebotomy experience and two years of teaching experience, he brings practical knowledge and a compassionate, patient approach to the classroom. He teaches both Phlebotomy and IV Therapy skills and enjoys helping students strengthen their technique, develop their skills, and gain confidence.

Liz is a Registered Nurse with 12 years of healthcare experience spanning oncology, float nursing, and nursing education. With five years of Phlebotomy and IV Therapy teaching experience and a master’s degree in education, she brings both clinical knowledge and an educator’s perspective to the classroom. Relatable, approachable, and positive, Liz especially enjoys seeing students build confidence and successfully apply the skills they have learned.
