Important IV Therapy Training Information

The IV Therapy Training Course is a second-level, hands-on course. Students must already have foundational venipuncture skills, including the ability to correctly apply and secure a tourniquet, locate and palpate veins, and perform basic venipuncture using proper technique. Prior IV insertion experience is not required.

Students may meet this prerequisite by completing our Phlebotomy Training Course or through relevant hands-on experience.

If you are new to venipuncture or need to refresh your foundational skills, please complete our Phlebotomy Training Course first. We often schedule the IV Therapy Training Course immediately after the Phlebotomy Training Course, allowing students who need both courses to build their venipuncture foundation first and then continue directly into the IV Therapy Training Course.
