Training in SeaTac

When classes are scheduled in SeaTac, both the Phlebotomy Training Course and the IV Therapy Training Course are offered.

The Phlebotomy Training Course is a two-day, beginner-friendly course with no prior healthcare experience required. The IV Therapy Training Course is a four-hour, second-level course, and prerequisites apply.

Classes are kept small so students receive supervised hands-on practice and individual guidance from the instructor.

Important Information for Washington Students

Washington State requires individuals performing phlebotomy who are not otherwise authorized under another professional credential or scope of practice, such as a registered nurse, to obtain the appropriate credential from the Washington State Department of Health. For many students, this is the Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist credential.

A Step Above Medical's Washington Phlebotomy Training Course meets the applicable training requirements through the supervising healthcare practitioner training pathway. Upon successful course completion, our Washington State licensed supervising healthcare practitioner completes the required Phlebotomist Training Attestation, and A Step Above Medical emails the completed attestation directly to the Washington State Department of Health on the student's behalf.

The student must separately complete and submit the application for the Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist credential directly to the Washington State Department of Health. A Step Above Medical is happy to help students understand and navigate the remaining application steps.

Completion of the A Step Above Medical course does not automatically issue a Washington credential. Application approval and credential issuance are determined by the Washington State Department of Health.
